Today, Multimedia has become part and parcel of daily life, and there is lack of skilled manpower in this area. Recognizing the requirement of potential professionals to the industry, Annamalai University and Image Infotainment Limited, Chennai signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration to offer programmes in Digital and Multimedia.
The Vice-Chancellor, Dr.M.Ramanathan said during the sign-in-ceremony that "there is a huge demand for creative staffs in the field of entertainment, advertising, animation digital media and computer software. To fulfill these job demands, Annamalai University in academic collaboration with Image Infotainment Ltd., Chennai introduced B.Sc. Digital Media and B.Sc. Multimedia from the academic year 2009-10. Students will be trained in Graphics, Multimedia, Animation and Digital Media Techniques, to improve the quality and shape their skills and enhance employability of the students."
Dr.M.Rathinasabapathi, Registrar, Dr.S.B.Nageswara Rao, Director, Directorate of Distance Education and Mr. Kumar, CEO, Image Infotainment Ltd., were present during the occasion.
