3D Golu 2009 at Image
Golu / Exhibition of dolls is a customary and traditional practice followed down south during the month of September when dolls and figurines of gods and goddesses are adorned, arranged on decorated wooden planks and exhibited.
At Image centers, students presented an innovative Golu with different concepts using waste and throw away materials. On display was the human life on the moon, different kinds of seasons like summer and winter, and an island named ‘Android’ containing wall paintings, mural arts, clay models and cartoon characters. The highlight of this year’s Golu was the model of an Egyptian mummy, the 3D paintings and the puppet show.
The exhibition was inaugurated by our honorable chief guest Mr. P.A. Mani, IFS commissioner of Arts and culture dept., Chennai. The inauguration was followed by a musical show by student Sathyaraj and a web presentation of the making of this exhibition.
Students Talk
We students very much enjoyed working together for this amazing 3D project. We started out with the project having no idea with what to start with. So with the support of our faculties we were able to bring out creative ideas. However in the end we were awarded the "BEST THEME AWARD FOR THE YEAR 2009".
