Visual effects give life to imaginary environments and actions that is impossible to happen/capture in real life. In various fields, including entertainment, architecture, medicine, and education, visual effects have become very important to gain audience attention. Of the various fields, the field of entertainment (movie or television) is the highest victim of visual effects. With the growing need to have visual effects in various fields, the need for people who are proficient in developing visual effects has grown many folds.
To serve this need, IMAGE has started offering a Diploma program in Visual Effects. The Diploma in Visual Effects is designed in such a way to enhance the skills of the students to produce attention-grabbing visual effects for film, television and video. The program includes modules on Graphic Design, Visual Design, Web Design, 3D Design, and Digital Video Editing. It also includes specialization modules, such as Pre-Production Techniques, which includes story writing, movement of cameras, and creating storyboard drawings; Shooting Techniques, which includes Angle of Cameras, Movement of Cameras, Basic Filters, In Door, and Out Door Shooting Techniques; Photoshop for Visual Effects, which includes Color Correction and Digital Matte Painting; 3D for Visual effects, which includes Path animation, Non Linear Animation, UV Texturing, Effects, and Solvers; and Visual Effects, which includes Chroma Keying, Wire Removal, 2D/3D Compositing, Color Correction, Morphs, Transitions, and Crowd Multiplication.
The Diploma course in Visual Effects can be taken up as a 20 or 10 months course, based on the students' requirements. The course enables students to enter the field of Film, Television and Gaming as Compositor, Rotoscopy artist, keying artist, Wire/Rig removal artist, Colorist and Match Moving artist.
Graphic Design is a comprehensive module that trains in creating effective visual communication. The exhaustive curriculum incorporates visualization, concept development, design techniques and composition through design case studies and hands-on exercises. The module provides specialization in areas, such as layout, illustration, print-based graphics and digital graphics.
Visual Design is an extensive hands-on foundation module in Digital Visual Art & Design, aimed to stimulate the student's creativity and imagination. Through Art & Design assignments, students master how to make aesthetic and practical design decisions. Also they learn about the diverse roles and functions of design elements in present-day life and their applications in Digital Visual Media.
Web Design is a Web-focused module that helps master the art and skill of effectively communicating to global audience through a Website. The project-based curriculum covers all aspects of creating an effective site including interactive design and interface design. Comprehensive coverage extends from basic to advanced content creation for optimal Web delivery.
3D Design provides a foundation to the understanding of 3D concepts like modeling, texturing, lighting, camera, animation & rendering in a simplified manner. The module is innovative, project focused and encourages teamwork, planning and thoughtful execution of 3D project. The Media Animation project taught in this module serves as a strong foundation for aspiring 3D Modelers, Texture Artists, Visual Effects Artists, Character Animators and prepares them to cope with the Specialization modules to be taught in the later part of the Diploma program.
Digital Video Editing adds interest and variety to the Diploma. The module enables the students to make a rough cut of their 3D and Visual FX works, and apply interesting transitions and video effects. Students learn video capturing, professional video-editing techniques like 3-point editing, synchronize audio and video, apply filters and output the edited video to various file formats.
